The in-person 5K WALK is not chip-timed. (This means that there are not results for the walk.) Special pricing to to celebrate the 16 year anniversary is $30 until Feb. 1st and $35 after. Day-of-Race Registration will be $40, so register early!

This year marks the 16 year anniversary of our annual 5k. We will be continuing to spotlight the focus of what this event is all about: Firefighter Cancer Awareness, education and acknowledgement of the dangers and health risks that the men and women of the Schenectady Fire Department face on a daily basis.

This year’s event has a lot of new and exciting fun aspects implemented. The 5k and walk will begin at 10am in front of the Central Park Pavilion. This is a USATF sanctioned event put on by an RRCA certified race director offering the opportunity for competitive runners to come and compete for podiums, trophies, and PRs.

Also appearing at the event is delicious, warm chowder prepared by members of the Schenectady Fire Department and local fire departments in the surrounding area. Along with a Kids Fun Run! .

The Schenectady Firefighters Cancer Foundation is proud to offer this family-friendly, community event. All proceeds go directly towards the mission and the work of the Foundation, and in short improve the lives of Schenectady firefighters and their families when dealing with a diagnosis of cancer.
