A “high-voltage” program of works by Americans Leonard Bernstein, William Grant Still, and Paul Schoenfield, featuring William Terwilliger’s own transcription of Bernstein’s Clarinet Sonata and masterful arrangements by Broadway legend Eric Stern of “Glitter and Be Gay” and additional favorites from Candide. Our own Monica Swartout-Bebow will join the duo in songs from Peter Pan and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Also featured are William Grant Still’s beloved Suite, based on African-American visual art, and in memory of UM’s longtime professor of composition Paul Schoenfield, the composer’s beautiful and frenetic Four Souvenirs.

William Terwilliger, violin
Andrew Cooperstock, piano
Monica Swartout-Bebow, mezzo-soprano
