Olivia Van Goor Sings the Music of Sarah Vaughan

For the first time, local jazz star Olivia Van Goor is presenting a full concert dedicated to her all-time vocal jazz idol: Sarah Vaughan. Known in history as one of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time, Sarah Vaughan and her legacy continue to leave a mark on vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Olivia and her world-class rhythm section present repertoire pulled from the entirety of Sarah’s expansive career, from ballads like “Misty” to improvised bebop like “Sassy’s Blues”. The selections will include arrangements transcribed from recordings in addition to Olivia’s own spin on Sarah’s book. After all, “Sassy” never sang one song the same!
