The Sonoma Community Center will host our second annual Lunar New Year cultural event to celebrate and highlight the upcoming Year of the Snake!

Also known around the world as Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, this year's celebration will begin on January 29, 2025. The Center's festivities will offer a variety of creative programming throughout the month of February. Instructors will offer a number of artistic workshops, present legacy educational programming, and hold an exclusive Sonoma public performance from the Redwood Empire Chinese Association (RECA) on Saturday, February 15th.

Free to all, the Lunar New Year Community Day on Saturday February 15th will begin with a traditional Chinese Calligraphy demonstration by Sonoma Valley Council Member Jack Ding. The art activities will be followed by engaging performances by RECA's own musical performers. Light refreshments will be provided to the public.

This event will be held rain or shine.

Weather permitting, this event will be held outside on our back patio. Otherwise, the event will be held indoors.
