What is Linoleum Cut?

Linoleum Cut, also known as linocut, is a type of relief printmaking.

Linoleum is used as an alternative to wood because it is softer and much easier to carve.

Once the surface is carved, it gets inked and paper is pressed onto it using a baren.

A barren is a hand held tool used to apply pressure to the back of paper to transfer image from the linoleum to the paper.
