A gifted tenor saxophonist hailed as one of the '80s Young Lions, Javon Jackson has been leader on 23 albums, most recently his first film score, and played on over 150 others.

With roots in both the hard bop tradition (he played in the final lineup of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers) and soul-funk jazz (inviting Les McCann to be a special guest in his band), Javon's considerable breadth and formidable technique have long wowed audiences.
