You're invited to join us for an unforgettable evening of music on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 7:00 PM, as It’s a Grand Night for Singing lights up the beautiful Jarvis Conservatory in downtown Napa!

This month’s program is a chronological journey through music history, featuring songs from the Renaissance to modern musical theater, performed by a phenomenal lineup of Bay Area singers and accompanied by world-class pianist Dr. Curt Pajer. From opera to art song to Broadway, this concert promises laughter, beauty, and connection through song.

Meet the Performers:

Aja Gianola is a dynamic mezzo-soprano and harpist whose musical journey has taken her from symphonic stages to solo cabaret performances. Aja holds a degree in Voice and Harp from Cal State East Bay and is a founding educator and director in Sonoma County’s theater and music scene. She’s also a crowd favorite, with her rich voice and magnetic stage presence. This month, she’ll sing music from Dowland, Satie, and Mean Girls, and share a moving duet from Waitress.

Jonathen Blue, tenor and current Education Director at 6th Street Playhouse, brings a wealth of talent to the stage. Known for his boundless creativity, Jonathen wears many hats—performer, director, costumer, choreographer—and now, countertenor! He’ll share the baroque classic Ombra mai fu as well as the powerful anthem Make Them Hear You from Ragtime, and will join Aja for a heartfelt contemporary duet.

Jacque Mahoney, a soprano with a shimmering tone and a heart for storytelling, recently appeared as Sister Genovieffa in Suor Angelica with Verismo Opera. With degrees in Vocal Performance and experience across opera and concert stages, Jacque brings depth and warmth to everything she sings. At Jarvis, she’ll offer arias by Mozart and Bizet that are sure to transport the audience.

Sam Martin is a promising young tenor and recent graduate of Sonoma State University. With a voice full of sincerity and lyric beauty, Sam brings fresh energy to art song and operatic repertoire. They will perform Schumann’s Mein schöner Stern and the beloved Italian song Ideale by Paolo Tosti.

Michael Arbitter is a gifted bass-baritone and theatrical character actor known for his versatility and magnetic stage presence. A veteran of Spreckels Theater Company and Santa Rosa Junior College productions, Michael specializes in roles that blend gravity and humor. He’ll share two powerful musical theater numbers: The Man I Used to Be from The Pajama Game and Where I Want to Be from Chess.

Cris Walker, lyric soprano and producer of the series, brings artistry, warmth, and decades of experience to the stage. As co-owner of Music to My Ears and co-founder of Up Street Music Patrons, Cris is a passionate advocate for music education and access. This month, she performs Massenet’s Il est doux, il est bon and Britten’s haunting Embroidery Aria from Peter Grimes.
