In 2003, six photographers embarked on a mission to document the transformation of Marine Corps Air Station El Toro into what is now the Great Park. Known as The Legacy Project, this team captured over 400,000 images—offering a rare glimpse into the base’s abandoned interior spaces.

Interiors of MCAS El Toro presents a curated selection of these powerful photographs, showcasing the artistry and history preserved by Jerry Burchfield, Mark Chamberlain, Jacques Garnier, Rob Johnson, Douglas McCulloh, and Clayton Spada.
