Driving gypsy jazz rhythms, acoustic guitars, upright bass, and violin lay the foundation for mesmerizing vocal harmonies and fantastic stories. It’s theatrical and humorous. It’s musical and intense. It entertains, dazzles, and defies classification-while inviting the audience to become part of the show through claps, snaps, and sing-alongs. If Django Reinhardt, the cast of Stomp, and The Beatles all had a party at Tim Burton’s house, Caravan of Thieves would be the band they hired.

Inspired by the swing era, Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France, absurd and macabre musical theater, and early American folk music, Caravan of Thieves took shape in the hearts and minds of Fuzz and Carrie, the dynamic singing, strumming, and songwriting duo who formed the band in early 2008.

They began by writing a handful of songs based on this concept, then filled out their sound with upright bass, violin, an occasional accordion, and any other willing participant they could recruit along the way. Caravan of Thieves was born. By the end of their first year, the band began to gain recognition for their distinctive musical vision, which inspired them to record and release their debut full-length album, Bouquet (2009). From there, Fuzz and Carrie took their show and a growing cast of characters on the road, sharing stages with a variety of artists such as Emmylou Harris, Dan Hicks, The Decemberists, Keb' Mo', Tom Tom Club, Iron and Wine, Shemekia Copeland, Punch Brothers, Robert Cray, John Jorgenson, and many others. They successfully connected with diverse audiences, proving their act was appreciated by folk, pop, and jazz fans alike. A few hundred thousand miles later, Fuzz and Carrie eventually reached a comfortable stride, embracing their roles as show and album producers, songwriters, and arrangers. They released Mischief Night (2010), The Funhouse (2012), and Kiss Kiss (2015), producing the shows and tours that followed. With each new band tour, they continued to introduce a broader blend of styles, instrumentation, and musical guests.

As a result, their live performances evolved into a dynamic and engaging experience—seamlessly shifting from intimate acoustic duets to energetic junk percussion jams, big audience stomps, claps, and singalongs. All the while, they maintained the spontaneous "street performance brought to the stage" mentality they had developed in their early days of performing together.

Over the years, Caravan of Thieves has developed a loyal family of fans, affectionately referred to as “Free.” This ever-expanding community of musicians, artists, and listeners has allowed their dreams to live on through every triumph and hurdle. With each performance, each interaction, and each new moment, another layer of color is added to their ever-evolving story. Doors open at 6pm, concert from 7pm - 9pm. Inside the beautiful new Offutt Education Center with auditorium-tiered seating; not a bad seat in the house.
