Phoenix, composed of Tim and Kathy Crosby, has built a reputation over more than two decades of performing together across the country. Their musical journey has taken them from the bright stages of Las Vegas to the storied halls of Nashville. Their style, described as a blend of folk and pop with Americana roots, is often compared to legendary artists like Willie Nelson, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Mary Travers, and June Carter Cash.
The duo is known for their seamless vocal harmonies and multi-instrumental performances, which range from guitar and mandolin to harmonica and percussion. Their sets highlight both individual talent and collaborative chemistry, creating a sound that is both authentic and emotionally resonant.
Phoenix’s artistry has not gone unnoticed in the industry. Tim Crosby has been nominated once again for Multi-Instrumentalist of the Year at the 2025 Josie Music Awards, marking the second consecutive year he has received this national recognition. The Josie Awards, considered one of the largest independent music award organizations, celebrate exceptional achievement in independent music. Over the years, the duo has also been recognized by several other notable organizations, including the Global Music Awards, the W.A.M. Awards, the Intercontinental Music Awards, and the International Music and Entertainment Association (IMEA). To date, Phoenix has earned six Josie Award nominations.
Their musical reputation continues to grow among critics and fans alike. A recent review from Indie Spoonful, a publication focused on emerging independent musicians, praised the duo’s unique ability to merge emotional depth with refined musical technique. The review described Phoenix’s performances as striking “a balance between thoughtfulness and a rush of instinct,” emphasizing the intentional craftsmanship behind their songwriting and live shows.
The upcoming performance in Grants Pass offers local residents and regional visitors an opportunity to experience a nationally recognized act in an intimate venue. The Museum of Art’s “Music at the Museum” series continues to bring diverse musical talent to the Rogue Valley, combining culture and live performance in a gallery setting that supports both the visual and performing arts.
