Sunday, Jan 5, 2025 from 10:30am to 4:30pm
In this daylong in-person workshop taught by artist Kelwin Coleman, learn a variety of monoprint processes and draw inspiration from themes of “otherness” in the exhibition Draw Them In, Paint Them Out: Trenton Doyle Hancock Confronts Philip Guston . Following a tour of the galleries, participants will be guided through the creation of figurative or symbolic representations in the studio. They will then make a portfolio of monoprints: applying ink or paint to a plate, exploring techniques such as stencil, reduction, and tracing, and transferring images onto sheets of paper using the printing press.
All skill levels welcome; all materials included. There will be a 30-minute lunch break at 1:00 pm.
Tickets: $175 General; $150 Jewish Museum members
